Care Home Refurbishment Project

CDM-UK were contracted to complete a full refurbishment to a large care home in Carntyne, Glasgow. One wing of this care home had been closed off to the residents due to some long-term damp issues within the property and had lay dormant for 2 years. The goal of the project was to refresh the aesthetic of the home and create a better living environment for the care home’s residents. 

The refurbishment works comprised of the following works 

• Investigation and resolution of damp ingress issues into one full wing of the home 
• Full replastering of damp affected areas 
• Full decoration of communal areas 
• Full carpet replacement to all communal areas 
• Replacement suspended ceilings 
• Supply and installation of new kitchen servery area 
• Full refurbishment of 4no wet floor shower rooms 
• Full refurbishment of 24no bedrooms complete with wet floor ensuites and fully tiled bulkheads and new sanitaryware 
• Supply and install of new reception glazing & entrance doors 
• Refurbishment of resident lounge spaces and dining areas 

All these works were carried out while the home was fully operational with a minimum of impact to the residents, visitors & staff. Our project delivery worked closely with the client’s management staff to successfully deliver the project on time and on budget, with the ultimate goal of improving the living environment of the residents being achieved by all.
