Why Is Whistleblowing Training Important?

Encouraging whistleblowing is a moral responsibility for employers, and protecting those who raise concerns is a legal duty. Under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA), employers in the UK have a legal duty not to dismiss or mistreat whistleblowers.

This CPD-certified course supports both the moral obligation to encourage whistleblowing and the duty to protect those who act in the public interest.

It sets out how to report legitimate concerns of wrongdoing, first within the organisation and then externally if concerns aren’t properly handled. It also covers the protections in place for whistleblowers, explaining when these protections apply and what employers must do to honour them.

Providing this whistleblowing training course helps organisations identify and address wrongdoing early, thereby reducing risk and demonstrating to stakeholders that concerns are managed responsibly.
